It's crazy to think about how the world of the Fallout games came to be. People had to survive a nuclear apocalypse! How did they do that?! What resources and skills would YOU need to be able to survive in a wasteland? Today Austin is diving back into the Fallout universe to find out! Let's see if we can show YOU how to survive a nuclear apocalypse - or die trying!

  • 7:00 even with all our modern medicine and stuff i actually had that exact snowball effect a few years ago after a horrible gastrointestinal fuckuppery, i was so tired and dehydrated i literally couldn't stand up long enough to go to the kitchen to get something to eat before just falling over from exhaustion. took me a month or 2 of carefully planning every single move to get back to anything resembling a healthy state...

  • I really enjoyed this and I hope this is the pilot episode in a new series about post-nuclear survival facts! Each episode in this hypothetical new *Game Theory Fallout Survival Series* should focus on how one person, a _lone_ _wanderer_ or _sole_ _survivor_ if you will, could survive different types of nuclear conflict scenarios from the Fallout games but analyzed as real-world scenarios with respect to the constraints of real science, the laws of physics, and biopsychosocial factors. Scenarios discussed in each episode could range from the detonation of just one or a few low-yield atomic bombs all the way up to full-scale global thermonuclear war throughout North America and Eurasia between several major power factions. I would very much enjoy such a series, think about it, Austin... imagine the possibilities for satisfying our collective morbid scientific curiosity! 🌏🚀🌎🛬💥🌆🌇🌕🔥💀🔥

  • Pretty sure that bacteria or viruses wouldnt be as much of a problem in an irradiated wasteland. As we can see in Chernobyls more irradiated zones, or zones previously exposed to hight doses of radiation, there is bareley any decomposition going on- with leaves and cadavers being left for months and weeks past the point where they would have started to decompose in other zones. This is because of radiation particles ( alfa, delta and gamma, but mostly gamma), which skever the RNA or DNA in bacterial plasmids or viruses, which in turn leads to masive pseudo-steralization. Now, there are other bacteria, which are more rezistant to radiation, like Deunococcus radiodurans, which isnt really too keen on infecting humans, but as all bacteria or organisms, could devope a taste in time.
