I am super excited for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. This brand new world looks AMAZING! Plus, the footage shows so many cool weapons and abilities. In fact, one that caught my eye is the dual wielding. You are able to dual wield a wide variety of weapons. So many in fact, that I want to know what the STRONGEST way to fight would be. What do you use? Theorists, pick up your weapons of choice and get ready for a battle to the best combo!

  • "It is sad to see something you love die. It is far worse when its instead becomes a bloated corpse, slowly decaying in its own festering entropy while making vain attempts to pull itself out of the disgusting sludge of what remains of its life. Everything dies in time, and its life should not be extended beyond its natural end as this will only cause great suffering not only to it, but everything around it as well." My exact thoughts on this channel

  • i agree with what you said about duel wielding but there is a non defensive option for duel wielding and that is the fact that you can attack faster by attacking right after your previous attack without bringing your blade back up to attack quicker

    Jason BeasyJason BeasyPäev tagasi
    • Not really no. The idea that dual wielding makes you faster is a myth.

  • Awesome that you remembered that fighting with weapons exists outside of Europe and Japan (why do so many forget when talking about this 😑) but I do feel the need to mention the one martial art whose foundational training centres of dual-wielding - Eskrima. It is based on fighting efficiently with two weapons and has historical precedent of being really effective. Yes, you mostly see dual sticks, but many of the techniques can translate to sword fighting. P.S Chinese martial arts also have shuangdao and shuangjian (dual sabres and swords), and dual knives and dear-horn knives and wind-and-fire wheels and double chain whip and twin maces and on and on and on. Korean swordfighting has dual-sword styles; nguni stick fighting uses dual-weapons; kalaripayattu uses dual swords of several different varieties; you can see dual-swords represented in martial dances from the caucasus region... So many people see sword and shield/dagger and stop at that, thinking that everything else must be ineffective. But if you learn about martial arts from outside Europe and Japan, take the time to train in the techniques that involve dual wielding, and use the right kind of weapon, you can actually become a really efficient fighter.

  • HEY MATPAT! So I have an idea for your fourth channel (to complete the little circle thing in all of your channel logos, food theory being the third one). It could be Life Theory, involving things in the real world. Things like “why do people enjoy __ so much?” You could get I to more science and math stuff, because both science and math are part of real life. Personally, if you did make this, I would love for you to explain why schools teach us stuff we might not even need in the real world. I think that’s a question we all want the answer to. Well, I doubt you’ll actually be reading this comment, but I’m gonna do my best to get it in your sight.

  • There is an actual dual wielding martial arts. In the Philippines they call it Arnis, Eskrima, or Kali. They can interchange between dual wielding weapons, to knife, to kick-boxing, to Jiujutsu, in a one fight without ever changing the stances or encumbrance. You can check it and I'm so amazed. The story goes is that the Filipinos used it against the Spaniards, and when the Spaniards conquered them, they banned the use of weapons and the martial arts because of its deadliness, so the Filipinos practiced it without weapons to conceal it as if it was just a cultural tradition and dancing (Like yaw-yan but yaw-yan is later version).

  • In terms of dual wielding axes in fiction; the Act Zaku Commander Type does it. For shields; the Thunderbolt GM (Pronounced Jim in this context, not Gee-emm) mounts its shields on sub arms installed on its backpack. Its super prototype counterpart wields FOUR shields, one on each arm and the other two are mounted on sub-arms just like the GM.

  • Vikings did become christians. The big kicker was the genocide that was the St Brices day massacre when every dane was brutally slaughtered despite peace treaties, which the brits still celebrate. And the viking shields were made to be used for punching but not straight on, they tilted the shield upward and outward and hit with the edge. Very effective.

The name of this arrowhead is "kolven". In battle they didn't care about the meat and often used arrowheads called "bilda" and "fleinn". My favourite is the fire arrow called "las-ör".

Not because of your accuracy with history, which everyone is saying is wrong, I wouldn't know, but because you were greedy and scummy enough to pretend to friendly yet take money from Ubisoft who is well known for being one of the worst, second only to EA. You're pathetic and you should stop pretending to be kind. No kind individual does what you did.

Also it's *niten ichi-ryū* which means schools of *Two Heavens as one*, and no both can be used for offense or defense simultaneously or interchangeably. And since when branch is better than empty hand? What a load of Bullshit... Those that have Martial arts experience laugh at those funny and ridiculous statement.
